Social Responsibility Management

ALS complies with labor and human rights policies including equal treatment to comply with human rights and
work ethics standards set forth by international organizations (UN, ILO, etc.)
and ensure that there is no discriminatory treatment of men and women and no discrimination in nationality, faith, race, religion, etc.

Prohibition of Forced Labor

  • We do not unreasonably restrict the mental or physical freedom of our employees or force them to work against their will.
  • We do not require surrender of an individual’s original identity card, passport or work permit as an employment requirement.

Young Workers

  • We do not employ anyone under the age of 15, under the age of completion of compulsory education or under the national minimum age for employment.
  • Workers under the age of 18 (youth workers) must not perform work that is likely to pose a risk to health or safety, work at night, or work overtime.
  • We must implement appropriate procedures to verify the age of workers.
  • If we detect someone under the age of 15, we must immediately stop work, take protective measures, and safely hand over the person to their parents or guardian
    (if necessary, contact the local police station).

Working Hours

  • Working hours must comply with the Labor Standards Act and must not exceed the hours specified in the Labor Standards Act.
  • All overtime has to be voluntary, and workers must be allowed at least one day of rest per week.

Wages and Benefits

  • Compensation paid to workers must comply with all applicable wage laws regarding minimum wage, overtime hours, and legally mandated benefits.
  • All workers must receive equal pay for the same work and qualifications.
  • Workers must be provided with timely and easy-to-understand pay statements that contain sufficient information to determine exactly how much they are paid for their work.
  • The use of temporary, dispatched and outsourced labor must be within the scope of local laws.

Non-Discrimination/Non-Harassment/Humane Treatment

  • Participating companies must strive to eliminate workplace harassment and unlawful discrimination.
  • In recruiting and employment activities affecting wages, promotions, compensation, and training opportunities, companies must not discriminate against or harass workers based on race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, ethnicity or national origin, presence of disability, pregnancy status, religion, political affiliation, or union membership status, retired military pension eligibility, confidential genetic information, or marital status.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining

  • Workers’ right to form and participate in trade unions of their choice, right to collective bargaining, right to peaceful assembly, and right to refrain from engaging in such activities must be respected.
  • Workers and/or worker representatives must be able to communicate openly with management, share ideas and concerns about working conditions and management practices, without fear of discrimination, retaliation, intimidation and harassment.
